JRSO Update — February 2023
Our JRSO team (Junior Road Safety Officers), consist of six primary 6 pupils who share the same vision, to raise road safety awareness in our school and local community.
This year, our JRSO team has been playing a crucial role in helping our pupils, parents and staff to stay safe around roads and vehicles.
What we have accomplished so far:
- JRSO team were selected through an application process
- Handbooks and badges were distributed to our new team members
- Application was made to Road Safety Scotland to provide our primary 1’s with the home learning resource ‘Ziggy’s Little Books For Home.’
- JRSO team prepared a presentation on Road Safety In The Dark, they carried out a 5 minute presentation educating pupils about road safety in the dark
- Launched a competition to design a ‘Stay Bright’ logo
- Road Safety Awareness Week – our JRSOs have made fliers for parents/carers regarding parking around school grounds.
- Patrolled outside school grounds to raise awareness of Road Safety Week
- Created a video to raise awareness to road safety
