Term 1 in P4

Welcome P4!

This is what we will be learning this term:

IDL
Our first context for learning this term is “We belong at St Peter’s”. P4 have been using the book “What makes me a ME” as a stimulus for our learning. We have been learning about the similarities and differences between us.

Literacy
In our writing lessons, we will been learning to write a fact file about ourselves and also imaginary stories -what it would be like to be different: very tall, very small, made of glass etc We hope our imagination will help us to write some really funny stories 🙂

As part of our IDL context for learning, we will be giving giving personal talks to the rest of the class about something that is special to us.

Maths
In maths we will be learning about whole numbers to 10 000. We will learn the number order, estimation addition and subtraction. On Fridays we will also be learning about data and making and using graphs.

Health and Wellbeing.
With Mrs Kelman we will be learning about keeping safe. We will learn about how to store our food safely to avoid bacteria.
In P.E. lessons we have been learning how to play hockey. We will also enjoy our weekly RADS lesson.

R.E.
In our R.E. lessons we will be learning about the different ways that we participate in R.E. at school and we are also looking forward to our start of year Mass with Fr Gabor.
