P1B Term 3

Numeracy

This term our main numeracy topic will be money. We will look at the different coins up to the value of £2, exploring their colours, sizes and values. Active learning will take place through carousel stations, play opportunities such as shop role play, and using a range of resources.

Literacy

Reading, writing and spelling will continue to progress through the Read Write Inc programme this term. Writing lessons will focus on different writing styles throughout the term, including personal, imaginative and functional.

Health and Wellbeing

Using the SHANARRI indicators, this term we will focus on being Responsible, Respectful and Included. We will look at topics such as healthy lifestyles and foods.

IDL

This Term we will be starting with the theme, “Let’s Celebrate”, which will focus on celebrations such as Burns Night. Pupils will have opportunities to try traditional cuisine and activities such as ceilidh dancing! As usual, IDL with run throughout the curriculum with links in writing and P.E. lessons. We look forward to inviting families into school soon to see what the children have been creating!

Learning sides will continue to be shared each Friday in the Google Classroom, and there will be opportunities for families to come into school.
