February news in P2
We are halfway through term 3 in P2. The class has been very busy this term so far.
Literacy.
The children were learning to improve their descriptions of setting through writing imaginative stories based on adventures that Scottish animals might go on. The children wrote about puffins, Nessie and Scottish Wildcats. The children used adjectives within their descriptions of what the characters could see, hear, smell and feel.
Numeracy.
The children have been furthering their subtraction skills. They have been learning to use materials to subtract within 20 and using the column method to subtract with numbers up to 99.
Next, the children will learn to use their addition and subtraction skills while learning about money.
The class have also been learning about data handling. So far the class have been learning to create and interpret tables and pictograms.
IDL
The children loved our “Let’s celebrate” IDL context for learning, specifically learning how Burns is celebrated in Scotland, and how the Kite festival is celebrated every January in India.
Take a look at some of our learning so far this term.
