End of Term 3 News
This had been an extremely busy term for the P7 pupils. Before we head into our last term of primary school, here is a recap of some of the learning activities and experiences that the pupils have engaged with this term:
Book Launch
Our book launch has been one of the highlights of this term, after all our hard work, our book was published! The book launch went better than we ever could have expected with a huge number of people in attendance. The pupils should be so proud of their efforts and they now have the keepsake of their framed motion in parliament which was hand delivered my local MP, MR Kevin Stewart!
World book day
As always, we celebrated World book day, with our P7 House captains playing a key role in the running of the day. They went around to each class, teaching them how to make corner bookmarks which was a huge success. They also organised our annual book swap which is always a success and received their free World book day book which they loved! We also shared our story maps with younger classes!
Sports village
We have been lucky this term to be having our PE lessons in the ASV! Every Thursday we took part in “large ball” activities which has been great fun, taking part in a variety of sporting activities!
Active adventure day – Carnival
To finish our “Let’s Celebrate” context for learning, our active adventure day was carnival themed, we pinned the tail on the unicorn, took part in some limbo activities and even learnt some salsa dance moves!
Rotary quiz
Congrats to our Rotary quiz team who won the heats of the annual Rotary quiz! St Peters have a legacy of doing particularly well in quizzes and this year was no exception! We wish them luck in the next round!
Achievements
Congrats to the pupils who completed Bikeability level 2, based on road safety on bijes! Hopefully this will encourage more pupils to cycle to school as they Spring and Summer months come!
Our RADS leaders had a great day at the ASV, engaging with other RADS leaders from across the city!
How’s the Weather?
We have really enjoyed this terms context for learning. We are now experts on weather forecasting, thanks to our weather station and our daily weather check ins. We also had a great day at Aberdeen University , where we got to act like students for the day, even graduating at the end! All of lectures were based around our weather context! Some of our science week activities also linked to this context for learning!
Expressive arts
We were delighted to be chosen to take part in a percussion workshop delivered by the Nicola Benedetti foundation! Our class represented their school so well and were complimented by the hosts! We have a very musical bunch!
Our Way of the Cross performance was amazing, they did an amazing job performing such an important story in our Catholic Faith.
Transition
Some pupils got to visit St Machar Academy to take part in a transition event. We look forward to more of these events in Term 4!
Happy Easter! Roll on Term 4!
