P3/4 Term 4 update

This term we have been working on ‘ The Silver City by the Sea’ IDL in April and May.

• We engaged in leaning about sea pollution, fishing and the sea.

We created posters and speeches to encourage society to look after the environment, our sea and the beach.

• We went on a trip to zoology building to learn about marine animals and sea pollution.

We wrote diaries about our trip.

• We were learning about our city and the fishing industry.

We researched marine animals and wrote fact files about them. We also created marine art using various painting and collage techniques.

Numeracy

In May we were learning about data handling. We started by learning how to collect information. Everyone has prepared their own surveys and collected data in class. We used data collected and displayed it using various graphs and charts. As a class we looked at tally charts, Venn diagrams, tables, bar charts and pictograms. We also used technologies to create bar charts. We discussed where we could use our knowledge of collecting, displaying and interpreting data in the future.

RE

This term some of P3 pupils from our class were preparing and took part in their first confession. Some of our P4 learners prepared and celebrated their First Holy Communion. Congratulations to all of them.
