Welcome to P4/5!

Literacy:

Our taught writing lessons will link to our context for learning, “We Are Linguists”, and then “Our Future World”. We will be creating: functional pieces in the form of letters; informative leaflets all about France; recount pieces; imaginative pieces to create helpful products for the future; and persuasive pieces to advertise those products.

In Reading we will start the Accelerated Reader programme for independent reading every day, and Reflective Reading to develop our skills.

In Spelling we will continue to build our skills through a range of activities.

Numeracy

In Term 1 we will be focusing on whole number, including place value and rounding. We will continue with Maths Mastery, to boost inclusive learning, through a range of pictoral, abstract and concrete formats.

Interdisciplinary Learning

Term 1 will begin with “We Are Linguists”, with a focus on France, moving onto “Our Future World” later in the term.

Health & Wellbeing

We will continue enjoying our RADS sessions on a Tuesday morning, and P.E. lessons on a Wednesday afternoon. This year, Mrs Jadid will be delivering our second HWB lesson, as well as Science.
