Term 4
Literacy
We will be linking our writing to our IDL contexts of our natural and our healthy world. The genres we will be focussing on are imaginative, personal, persuasive and functional. Within this we will be learning to write imaginative stories, letters, newspapers reports and a fact files.
Numeracy
We have started this term learning about money and will focus on budgeting, profit and loss and digital transactions. We have started to work within a set budget and looking at different items we can purchase within our budget. After money, we will be moving on to learn about measurement in the second half of the term, in which we will learn about the different types of measurements, area and perimeter.
PE
We have RADS on a Tuesday afternoon and our PE is on a Thursday afternoon. We will be learning about athletics and then moving onto to learn about hockey before finishing off with rounders in the final two weeks of term.
IDL
We are learning about frozen landscapes in our context of “our natural world” and then will be learning about nutrition & exercise, as well as emotional, social and mental wellbeing in “our healthy world” context.
Science
We will be focussing on body systems and cells in our science block for this term, in which we will learn about how the respiratory system and the circulatory system works and ways in which we can minimise and prevent respiratory and circulatory diseases.
Health and wellbeing
We will be focussing on being active this term, and learning about how we produce energy and the different types of activities that we can take part in to be active and healthy.
A busy term which we are all really looking forward to.
