P3/4 2024-2025

Term 4 in P3/4

Welcome back! I hope you had a lovely holiday and are ready for the busy term ahead. 

Numeracy:

This term we will begin by looking at multiplication and division, focusing on different methods to help us solve the equations. We will then move onto fractions and percentages where we will look at different properties of fractions and converting them into percentages. Our final topic will be data handling where we will look at how we can display different statistics and information. 

Literacy:

This term we will be continuing to focus on our CYPIC writing approach. We began connectives last term and hope to meet the 100 club very soon. After that we will be moving onto vocabulary. Through CYPIC we will be focussing on many different genres of text, which will like through our IDL topics. We will continue to focus on spelling and reflective reading strategies through using Big Cat. 

IDL:

This term we will begin by focusing on ‘Our Natural World’ with a focus on fresh waters. During this topic we will look at the water cycle and different bodies of freshwater. We will also look at the different nature around bodies of freshwater. We will then move onto ‘Our Healthy World’ where we will take part in a range of activities based on living a healthy lifestyle, along with sports day and potted sports. 

Other Information:

We will continue our RADS session on Mondays along with a PE session on a Wednesday. Our focus for PE will be netball and then athletics. P4s will also complete a block of swimming every Thursday. Mrs Binkowich will cover the class on a Thursday afternoon where she will cover French, Health and Wellbeing and Science.
