Performers and Performances

In the second part of term two we are starting our new IDL called Performers and Performances.

During this IDL we will:

• all the learners will be involved in creating items for the school fayre
• we will create posters to advertise our products for the Christmas fayre
• we will create a virtual Christmas card for all the parents
• we will learn songs for the Christmas panto and perform in front of the audience
• we will create Christmas crafts in class and decorate our class windows
• we will take part and prepare our Christmas party

Literacy

We are using CYPIC writing to improve our writing skills. We are continuing to work on different aspects of our writing such as punctuation, ‘wow’ words and connectives. In reading we are continuing to work on reflective reading skills and using our skills to understand texts better.

Numeracy

During numeracy lessons we will learn to collect, display and analyse data. We are building our knowledge and understanding of different graphs and how to interpret them. During the second part of this term we will start working on money, budgeting and spending.

RE

During the second part of this term we will focus on learning about the meaning of different Christmas symbols. We will also learn about the meaning of gifts that the Magi brought to baby Jesus. We will create Christmas scenes, decorations and sing Christams songs.

Homework

Our homework will include numeracy tasks, reading books and spelling words. Numeracy homework will be posted every Monday as a set of online activities and should be finished by Friday. Our reading books will be shared on Boost learning.
