We have completed a fact file on Robert Burns in which we used digital technology to research Robert Burns which we found really enjoyable and engaging. We had also created an acrostic poem on Robert Burns. We are now focusing on Malawi as out topic for our writing lessons. We have looked at creating character descriptions, settings and combining both to write imaginatively about our topic.

IDL

Our IDL topics this term are Scotland and Malawi in which we learned “Nessie” by JK Annand as our poem, Mhairi’s Wedding and Mama will you buy me a as out Scottish songs, and also completed some artwork about Scotland. We also learned The Virginia Reel and The Flying Scotsman as our two Scottish dances which we had to perform as part of our whole school Ceilidh. This was part of our Scottish learning completion throughout the whole school. For our topic of Malawi, we are looking at the global goals of No poverty and zero hunger and making a comparison between Scotland and Malawi.

We will be soon moving onto our topic of Our Global World in which we will be learning all about Islam and have an exciting trip booked to a local mosque (Masjid Alhikmah).

We have been able to create our own gymnastics routine by combining the moves learned.

We will be moving on to tennis in which we will be looking at ball control, accuracy and movement as part of our block.

We have been focussing on various sections which include; God gives you life, God gives you love, God gives you joy, God gives you peace and God gives you forgiveness. These have been important topics as pupils begin to understand the steps they are taking in accepting God into their lives and the journey that they are beginning.
