Class News – June 2015
The last term of Primary 6 has been the busiest term so far.
On May 18th, St Peter’s celebrated Health Week. Our focus this year was on how the body works. Each morning we kick started the day with some very energetic activities. We learned all about how the muscles in our body work and gave a demonstration at a whole school assembly of how we can use these muscles effectively. We also got to learn a dance routine with Linzy, our hip hop dance teacher.
We were lucky enough to have a trip to the Music Hall with P5 to watch a performance of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. We heard 10 pieces of music from a range of different genres and really enjoyed ourselves.
We are still continuing our weather topic this term. In class, we made some tornadoes in a bottle as part of a science experiment. They were very effective.
It has been a very musical term for the Primary 6’s. In Mandarin we have been learning about traditional Chinese dance and learning some routines.
We had a fantastic day last Friday, performing with the Scottish Opera in a production of “Warriors. The Incredible Army”. We put on an amazing performance, with excellent costumes and added choreography to our songs that we had been practising in class. We got to wear some traditional Chinese costumes and really enjoyed performing to the whole school and the parents. Some of us thought it was the highlight of primary 6.
Thank you for all your support in raising money for Lepra. We had a great morning dancing our socks off for charity.
Well done to Lily, who gave an excellent performance in the national youth choir this week. We are all very proud of her!
On June 13th we will have our annual Summer Fair. As part of the international food hamper, each class has been given a country. Pupils are asked to bring in food from that country. The country chosen by our class was Scotland so any Scottish food or drink that could be donated for the hamper would be very much appreciated!
I look forward to seeing you all there!
