P3 Red Class News September 2015
P3 Red have had a very active start to the term. We have been practising our football skills with our coach Rob!
We have also been enjoying our weekly swimming sessions at The Aquatic Centre.
In literacy, we are continuing to consolidate our phonemes and look forward to being introduced to new sounds in October. Our class novel is ‘Matilda’ by the fantastic author Roald Dahl. We enjoy reading about the people in the story and discussing their characteristics. The author was a very funny man!
In maths we have revised number bonds and we are now focusing on position and movement. We are linking some of our numeracy work to our topic ‘Pirates and Islands.’ We are learning about compass points, direction, map reading and coordinates.
We will be making our own pirate ships next week. Photos will follow!
Gentle Reminders – Our P3 trip to the ‘Fossils and Funny Bones’ exhibition at Satrosphere is on Monday 5th October. Parent helpers are welcome. Please enquire at the office if you are available.
All children should have their reading books at school every day.
