P2 Blue News October & November
Hello all,
Primary 2 Blue have been working so hard and making wonderful progress. I am delighted with how well everybody has settled in with the attitudes and behaviours in our class.
Literacy
We are continuing to focus on one sound and four spelling words a week. Please continue to bring these spelling words into conversation at home. Try to practise them in different fun ways. I would be more than happy to see some creative ideas on ways to make your spelling words super interesting! I am happy with the progress in spelling so far this year.
Reading
Thank you all for your continued support in reading. It is so important that our children are reading every day at home.
Maths
As you can see from our homework,we have been learning about a lot of different topics in maths this term.We have learnt about 2-D and 3-D shape and are currently learning about measurement. We have really enjoyed weighing ourselves, balancing different objects etc.
Topic
We have reviewed our “under the sea” topic and I think it’s fair to say that we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you for all your hard work promoting this at home and for your wonderful aquariums. We will be focusing on Christmas as a context for our learning for the month of December.
Miss Webster and Miss Moreland
Miss Webster and Miss Moreland are our 2 MA2 students from Aberdeen University. They have been in class this term every Thursday. They will continue to work with the class for the rest of the year. They have really been enjoying working with the class and the children have really been enjoying having them in class.
Christmas show
We have started practising for our Christmas show and our songs are sounding lovely.
We will be doing some Christmas craft in school. Can I please remind you to take jars into school. We have almost got enough now but the more the merrier!
We will be selling these jars at our Christmas Faye in decorated form!
We will look forward to seeing you there.
Thank you for your continued support,
Best Wishes,
Miss Corby
