P6 News September 11th 2014
Another school year has just begun and the boys and girls in P6 have been very busy already. We have covered a wide range of curriculum areas as we all try to settle back into the school routine.
The boys and girls were very excited to hear that our topic this term is Europe. In the coming weeks we will be learning about the E.U. and different countries within Europe and creating our own individual projects on some of the countries within the European Union. We look forward to seeing the finished results.
In writing we have completed holiday brochures based on European countries and wrote some recipes on some tasty European dishes.
In drama, we also explored the concepts of European landmarks and stereotypes which we all really enjoyed.
We have started swimming lessons for a six week block. We also had the opportunity to explore our table tennis skills in the Aberdeen sports village. As you can tell, we are a very active class in Primary 6 so it is important that gym kits are brought to school every day.
This week, we were also very lucky to get some special visitors all the way from Kenya. The Osiligi Maasai Warriors came to St Peters to teach us a little bit about their culture and way of life. The show was amazing and one the boys and girls in Primary 6 won’t forget for a very long time.
