P2 Red

Primary 2 Red: November

Primary 2 Red enjoyed raising lots of money for Children in Need. We loved our spotty costumes and we were able to take part in a spot hunt in our classroom.  We really enjoyed focusing on patterns in maths. We made lots of lovely ‘under the sea’ patterns.

We are now focusing on time. We are starting by learning the months of the year and the days of the week and putting them in order. Then we will use clocks to tell the time to the nearest half hour. .

Thank you for helping your children with their ‘Under the Sea’ projects. They all had the chance to present them to the class and the children did fantastic work. We learned lots of interesting facts. These will be displayed for the whole school to see.

Last week, in writing, we enjoyed retelling the story of ‘Shaun the Shark’, using puppets and sequencing to help us. We are trying to use our phonics to help us to sound out our words.

In science we have been looking at water, focusing on the water cycle and what causes thunder and lighting. We were also able to explore the terms ‘solid’ and ‘liquid’ through the process of melting and freezing. We all really enjoyed the opportunity to look closely at ice.
