January P2 Red
Primary two red have had a very enjoyable three weeks back at school learning about Scotland and Scottish Literature. We have been learning a number of Scottish songs. We have also been practising our ceilidh dancing in preparation for our class ceilidh next Wednesday. We have been learning lots about Katie Morag and are looking forward to presenting what we have learned to our families next week.
We celebrated the new year by making individual calendars, looking at the different seasons and how the natural environment changes all year round. The children had the opportunity to lead our class prayers to show our thankfulness for all seasons God created.
Within literacy we have set ourselves an exciting reading challenge, inspired by The First Minister’s Reading Challenge. We have decided to partner up with primary three and meet weekly to share our favourite books and read to each other. We thoroughly enjoyed our first week of developing our reading in this way and can’t wait for Thursday to share our next books. Families could support this at home by reading and discussing a variety of books with your child or taking a trip to your local library.
