P2 RedP2-4

P2 Red Health Week and Summer Fair

Primary 2 red have thoroughly enjoyed health week and experienced a range of activities. We participated in a whole school conga and the P1-4 dance class. We developed our  football skills with help from James and Greg, the Russell Anderson Development School coaches. Additionally we were lucky enough to have visitors in to help us to develop our batting and catching skills in cricket. We had the opportunity to explore how our feelings influence our behaviour and how to cope with our emotions through small group drama in class. Primary 2 red also engaged with a mindfulness and prayer space session which provided them with opportunities to express their beliefs and faith. They became leaders of their learning by deciding on questions which they had about health and researched them on I-pads before presenting their findings in poster format. We recorded this week’s activities in individual grids to share with parents at home.

Loose parts play, led by P5/6, has been a highlight of P2 red’s week. They enjoyed the opportunity to use their imagination to explore gutters, wooden planks, pipes and sticks. They are looking forward to their next session.

St Peter’s rounded up their fantastic health week with a Summer Fair in the sunshine which everyone thoroughly enjoyed!
