Primary 5/6 Learning
Hello from Primary 5/6!
We have had a really busy term and have been enjoying settling into our new class and learning lots of new and exciting things.
This term in maths we have been focusing on number. We have been learning to use our knowledge of place value to read, write and partition numbers. We have also been looking at rounding and comparing numbers.
The entire school are learning about “Our Caring World”. Primary 5/6 have been learning about renewable energy. We have enjoyed doing lots of fun science experiments. We have learned that oil and gas are made from the remains of marine plants and animals.
We carried out an experiment to show how melting ice can cause rising sea levels.
We explored using water-colour paints to create our own autumn hedgehogs.
We visited Aberdeen Sports Village where we learnt how to play table tennis. It was great fun.
We also had a visit from Robogals. They taught us how to code our own game using Scratch. We learnt about algorithms and variables.
Thank you for all your continued support,
Miss Webb and Primary 5/6
