P5 2018

Term 2

Hello from Primary 5! We hope everyone had a lovely October holiday. We have a busy Term 2 in the run up to Christmas.

Literacy

We will continue our topic of Water this term. The children will be creating some persuasive information leaflets about our responsibility in using water wisely in the coming weeks.

Maths

This term we are looking at the topic of money. We will be identifying coins and notes, calculating change and total costs. We will also be learning about special offers and how to budget. Any real life daily experiences of money the children can be a part of would be beneficial to their learning.

Topic

Primary 5 will be part of the choir for the school’s production of “The Pirates of the Currybean” in our Christmas panto. We are looking forward to learning all the song lyrics in the coming weeks.

We are also taking part in the blessing of the Crib in St Nicholas Kirk, a nice way to start the Christmas season.

Health and wellbeing

This term, Primary 5 will have football on a Tuesday with the RADS and they are looking forward to improving their football skills. We also have a table tennis session and a trip to the cinema to see “Peter Rabbit” to look forward to.
