P7 2018Uncategorized

January in Primary 7

We started the new term with some resolutions for the New Year. We thought about 2 things that we were proud of from last year, 0 -something we are going to try to stop doing this year, 1– one goal for the year and 9 things that we would like to learn more about in 2019. Hopefully you are all trying your best to keep those resolutions from week 1.

Our class topic this term is “The history of fishing in Aberdeen.” We are going to learn how it has changed over they years and the importance of fishing in the economy now and in the past. We all painted some dolphin pictures inspired by Scottish artist Steven Brown as an introduction to our topic. Everyone did great work.

During our topic we hope to go on a few trips and have some visitors to our classroom to help us to learn more about fishing in our local area.

Well done to all the P7 House Captains who led house assemblies last week. You all gave your houses some good advice on earning house points and keeping the school rules.

Literacy   We have been learning how to write instructions over the past few weeks. We enjoyed checking that we could write clear instructions that could be followed by others.

Robert Burns Celebration

Well done to everyone for learning their poem “Up in the morning early” by Robert Burns and performing it for the parents on Wednesday. P7 also learned the Canadian Barn Dance in PE with Mrs Armstrong and performed this also. We did some Scottish artwork to remember Robbie Burns in class too.

Robogals

P7 had a visit from Robogals and learned some coding and how to make their own game on the chrome books. Everyone enjoyed his event.
