Primary 1 class news.

We have had all the Primary 1 pupils in together for a whole week now! The boys and girls are settling in very well, getting to know the routines of the class and making lots of new friends.

We have loved getting to know our buddies and enjoyed our paired reading with them before breaktimes last week.

We have had lots of fun exploring the areas of the classroom and being creative in our play.

This week we had a visit from Booster Cushion Theatre. Phil came in and told us a story based on “Goldilocks and the Three Bears”. The story was really funny and some of us even got to go up and be part of acting out the story with puppets!

Thank you for sending your child to school with one piece of fruit for snack. Lots of children are bringing water bottles to school which is fantastic as the children can have a drink whenever they are thirsty. Children will have milk to drink in the afternoons from next week.
Please ensure that your child has a jacket with them everyday as we know that the weather in Aberdeen can be very changeable!

Thank you for sending your child to school with gym kit in a separate gym bag. From next week we have P.E on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Aberdeen City Council policy states that children are not allowed to wear earrings during P.E. lessons. If your child normally has earrings in their ears they must be covered with tape or not worn on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Thank you.

From Monday, children will be staying for lunch. The children will choose their lunches in the classroom in the morning with me. Please look at the school lunch menu online and if there is anything in particular that you know your child will not eat, please let me know on the day it is being served. All reading folders are checked every morning and so I will always get notes that are placed in reading folders.

It has been wonderful to get to know your children and their personalities. Please do not hesitate to talk to me if you have any concerns.
