Pupil Council

Pupil Leadership Groups

February 2024

Learning Council:

The Learning Council has been very busy this term. They planned and organised a ‘Mini Highland Games’ Active Adventure Day in January. There were many fun activities for our pupils to participate in. Some of the activities included: Welly Toss; Farmer’s Dash; Mini Golf, Shinty and Highland Dancing!

Each learning council representative is now in consultation with their classmates to gather ideas for science week. These ideas will be given to Mrs Jadid, our Science coordinator, and implemented during this exciting week in March!

Pupil Council:

Our Pupil Council are excited to be planning a fundraising Active Adventure Day in May. All proceeds will be donated to Charlie House, a charity they have been working with closely this year.

Our Pupil Council are also looking forward to being involved in carrying out an energy audit in classrooms. They hope to work alongside the Digital Leaders in reducing our carbon footprint and finding more energy efficient ways of doing things in our school.

JRSOs

The JRSOs continue to impress us all with their enthusiasm and drive for road safety! They will be working closely with Mrs Kelman and Mr Sturrock to create an Active Travel Plan.

An Active Travel plan is a written document that identifies local issues relating to the school journey, sets out a strategy of agreed aims and identifies a package of measures designed to promote more sustainable travel choices for pupils, parents, staff and visitors to our school. Sustainable travel choices may include walking, cycling, public transport and lift sharing. We look forward to updating you regularly with our progress.
