World Book Day
All our children enjoyed a very special assembly for World Book Day. Lots of children and staff had dressed up as their favourite book characters. Primary Seven pupils hosted the event and encouraged all to keep reading.
P1 Blue children have enjoyed all the stories in their BookBug packs. They voted for their favourite and chose “Robot Rumpus” by Ross Collins. They made a special poster with a bar graph and description of the story. We all loved Miss MacDonald’s hat for her Cat!
P1 Red love Marcus Pfister’s story of “The Rainbow Fish”. They all contributed special scales to their own fantastic fish and they also shared a special rhyme with us.
The boys and girls in P2 made their own scrapbook with pictures and stories of the Mr Men and Little Miss characters.
P3 children wore their writing and pictures about their favourite books! Children in P3/4 designed Book Covers and P4 shared the beautiful bookmarks they had made. We hope they will enjoy using them to mark the page on the many books they will be reading in the next few months!
P5 pupils love reading and they shared some of their Book Reviews with us. Many of the titles they chose were inspired by their World War 2 project.
P6 pupils made covers of their favourite books, illustrating them and writing the ‘blurb’ on the dust jacket which encourages readers to choose the book.
Finally, P7 told us about their class novel ‘Wonder’ by R.J. Palacio and showed us their character descriptions of the main character, Auggie.
